Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is one of the world's great natural wonders — the Zambezi River plunges over a mile-wide basalt cliff into the Batoka Gorge, throwing spray that can be seen for miles. On the Zimbabwe side, roughly three-quarters of the Falls' face is visible from a network of viewpoints along the Rainforest walk, making it widely regarded as offering the better overall view of the two national viewing sides.

Beyond the Falls themselves, Victoria Falls town has grown into Zimbabwe's adventure and gateway hub: scenic helicopter flights over the gorge, sunset cruises and dinner cruises on the Zambezi, guided walking safaris in the unfenced Zambezi National Park, an elephant encounter at the Wild Horizons Elephant Sanctuary, and cultural experiences such as The Boma dinner and drum show or a home-hosted meal in Chinotimba. See the full list of Victoria Falls experiences on the main Zimbabwe page.

Accommodation ranges from the historic grandeur of The Victoria Falls Hotel, perched directly above the gorge, to private-reserve luxury at The Elephant Camp and Anantara Stanley & Livingstone, to convenient in-town lodges and guesthouses a short walk or drive from the Falls entrance.
