Beyond thefour main worlds.

The West Coast, Cape Agulhas, Still Bay, the Little Karoo and the Panorama Route — quieter corners worth a detour for travellers with extra time.

West Coast

North of Cape Town, along the Atlantic.

The West Coast runs north from Cape Town along the Atlantic seaboard, known for its fishing villages, seasonal wildflower displays in spring, and a slower pace than the Winelands or Garden Route. It is less travelled by international visitors than the rest of the Cape, and makes an interesting detour rather than a core itinerary stop.

We do not currently carry contracted properties on the West Coast. Ask your consultant for current recommendations if a client wants to add this detour. Request a quote →
Cape Agulhas

The southernmost tip of Africa.

Cape Agulhas, not Cape Point, is the official meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans and the southernmost point of the African continent — a popular stop for travellers wanting the "tip of Africa" photograph, usually combined with a drive through the Overberg region between Cape Town and the Garden Route.

We do not currently carry contracted properties at Cape Agulhas. It combines well as a stop on the drive between Cape Town and Still Bay or the Garden Route. Request a quote →
Where to stay

The Little Karoo & Oudtshoorn.

An inland detour from the Garden Route over the Outeniqua or Robinson Pass, into a semi-arid landscape quite different from the coast. Oudtshoorn, the Little Karoo's main town, is known as the ostrich capital of South Africa and sits close to the Cango Caves.

On the Kruger side of the country

The Panorama Route.

Not part of the Cape at all — the Panorama Route is a scenic drive through the Mpumalanga escarpment next to Kruger, centred on the Blyde River Canyon, and is covered in full on our Kruger & Greater Kruger page rather than duplicated here.
