The full story

Detailed itinerary.

Days 1–2

Wilderness Mombo

Wilderness Mombo sits in the north-eastern corner of Chief's Island, at the point where the Delta's main channels split — a position that concentrates wildlife into a private concession local people once named Mokobadinama, "the acacias hanging with meat," for the density of game it supports. 2 nights at this camp.

Days 3–4

Wilderness DumaTau

DumaTau — Setswana for "roar of the lion" — occupies a stretch of the Linyanti Marsh regarded as one of the best elephant-viewing locations on the continent. 2 nights at this camp.

Day 5

The Weinberg Windhoek

The Weinberg Windhoek is a sophisticated boutique hotel within the Am Weinberg Estate at 13 Jan Jonker Road, positioned in the Klein Windhoek valley. 1 night at this camp.

Days 6–7

Wilderness Little Kulala

Wilderness Little Kulala sits within the 37,000-hectare Kulala Wilderness Reserve, with its own private gate giving direct access to the national park and Sossusvlei — a genuine advantage over lodges that must queue at the public gate. 2 nights at this camp.

Days 8–10

Hoanib Elephant Camp

Hoanib Elephant Camp is a genuinely new property, opened May 2026, built specifically around the Hoanib's desert-adapted elephant population, ~70km southwest of Sesfontein and ~25km downriver from sister camp Hoanib Valley Camp. 3 nights at this camp.

Day 11
