Geisterschlucht Cabin
Geisterschlucht Cabin is a rustic self-catering cabin in a sheltered valley near Aus in southwestern Namibia, part of the Klein-Aus Vista offering within the Gondwana Collection Namibia group. Its atmosphere is tied to local history, including a bullet-ridden Hudson vehicle from a diamond smuggler gunfight and stone ramparts from the First World War.
It is a single cabin with two family rooms, each sleeping four, sharing an open-plan kitchen and lounge; the cabin sleeps eight in total. Rooms have bedding and en-suite showers. Electricity is solar-powered (220V), and the kitchen has a fridge, gas burner, indoor braai and cookware, with an outdoor barbecue as well.
There is no restaurant: guests can eat at Desert Horse Inn, 6 km away, or order barbecue packs. Activities include self-guided hiking on five trails, self-guided mountain biking, sunset drives, half-day desert tours and day trips to Luderitz and Kolmanskop. The cabin may only be reachable by 4x4 at certain times of year, and a minimum booking charge applies.
