Kruger Untamed – Tshokwane River Camp

Tshokwane River Camp is the flagship property of Kruger Untamed, described as the first-ever seasonal luxury tented camp concession in Kruger National Park. It operates only during the South African winter months (typically May to September each year) and sits in a dry-riverbed setting along the Ripape River in central Kruger, near the well-known Tshokwane picnic spot, roughly 60 minutes from Skukuza Airport.

The camp comprises 30 cottage-style luxury tents (8m x 4m plus a veranda, 24m² of interior space) with front and rear doors, side windows and a covered, en-suite patio, accommodating up to 60 guests in double or twin configuration. Each tent is fully serviced with a queen bed, luxury white linen, hot water bottles at turndown, electric bedside lamps, mosquito nets and outdoor seating under a canopy. Guests gather in a communal dining area for full English breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, and around a communal fireplace lounge in the riverbed itself. Rates are inclusive of all meals, soft drinks, house wines, local-brand spirits and beers, and either two daily game drives in open safari vehicles or a guided walking safari with a rifled ranger; a swimming pool and dry-riverbed lounging area with yard games round out the camp facilities.
