Imbali Safari Lodge is set within a canopy of Jackalberry and Tamboti trees on the Mluwati Concession in Kruger National Park, sheltered in riverine forest overlooking the seasonal Nwaswitsontso river. The lodge is built on the site of a 400-year-old African settlement, with archaeological finds including clay pots, bone tools and grinding stones informing its sense of place; interiors combine plush leather furnishings, African tapestries and Tsonga-styled thatched roofing.

Accommodation comprises 12 private suites, each with its own plunge pool and spacious wooden deck overlooking the riverbed and plains beyond. The lodge positions itself as a wildlife sanctuary in miniature — guests can watch golden orb spiders, starlings, francolins, dung beetles and frogs from the deck and infinity pool without leaving the property. Days begin with an early rusk and coffee before the morning game drive with an assigned ranger.

Rooms: 12 private suites, each with its own plunge pool. Facilities: private plunge pool per suite, infinity pool, dining room built around a living Jackalberry tree, lounge with African artefacts.
