Walkers Plains Camp is a family-owned luxury safari camp in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park and a Big Five reserve, set on an open plain savannah with sweeping views of the Drakensberg Mountains. The Walker family acquired the original property in 2006 and built Plains Camp between 2017 and 2018; it is now run day-to-day by twin brothers Steve and James Walker, alongside sister properties Walkers River Camp and the coastal Walkers Beach in Plettenberg Bay.

The camp comprises 8 safari rooms, including two spacious two-bedroom family rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom (double vanity, bath, shower and indoor/outdoor shower), air-conditioning and ceiling fans, a private deck with its own plunge pool, and WiFi with USB charging. The main lodge area centres on a swimming pool, bar, dining room, lounge and open-air boma, with rooms and communal areas alike overlooking a waterhole that draws game throughout the day. Rates are fully inclusive of accommodation, all meals, local wines, spirits and liqueurs, twice-daily game drives in open vehicles, and return road transfers between the lodge and the nearby Rockfig airstrip. Children aged 8 and older are welcome and can be accommodated in the larger family rooms.

Walkers Plains Camp is rated 5 of 5 on TripAdvisor from 83 reviews, ranked #6 of 53 B&Bs/inns in Hoedspruit. Guests consistently describe exceptional Big Five sightings often within a single day, standout food, and hosts James and Steve's hands-on, personal hospitality, with private plunge pools and waterhole views from every room repeatedly singled out. Worth flagging: no significant recurring complaints were identified, though as a still-relatively-new property (opened 2018) the review base remains smaller than some longer-established Timbavati/Greater Kruger neighbours — worth factoring into expectation-setting for clients who prioritise a long, deep review history.
