Simbavati Trails Camp is a small, deliberately basic walking-safari camp in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which shares an unfenced boundary with Kruger National Park. It opened on 1 March 2020 under African Inspiration Hotels and Lodges, conceived as a back-to-basics camp with no electricity or cellphone reception, set in a secluded corner of the reserve.

Accommodation is four en-suite Meru-style canvas tents, giving a maximum of eight guests, with large windows onto the bush, comfortable beds and plumbed toilets with hot water from bucket showers. Lighting is solar, and device charging is available in the main area only. A communal Mkhulu tent holds the lounge, bar and games, with a reservoir-style pool and deck overlooking the riverbed.

The experience is entirely on foot: two guided walks a day, morning and afternoon, run about three hours each with armed, experienced guides, usually ending with sundowners. There are no standard game drives. Meals are cooked over an open fire by the camp cook and are included in the rate. The minimum age is reported as 14 or 16 depending on source; confirm directly, and a minimum stay of three nights is recommended given the walking format.
