Royal Malewane is The Royal Portfolio's safari collection in the Thornybush Private Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger on the western border of the Kruger National Park. There are no fences between the reserve and Kruger, so wildlife roams freely. Guests can choose from four lodges, Malewane Lodge, Waterside, Farmstead and Masiya's Camp, each with its own character, or one of three exclusive-use private villas: Africa House, Waterside House and Farmhouse.
Malewane Lodge has six Luxury Suites, each sleeping two, and two two-bedroom Royal Suites, in a classic layout with dark woods and vast raised decks over the bushveld. Farmstead has three Luxury Farm Suites, Waterside has four Luxury Suites plus the Baobab Suite and two interconnected Aloe Rooms, and Masiya's Camp is a lodge under canvas with six tented suites. The Royal Waters Spa has a 25m heated lap pool, treatment rooms, a fitness centre, sauna and cold plunge, and dining is paired with a sommelier's selection of South African wines. Guests can also visit the Conservation & Research Centre, and twice-daily game drives and bush walks are led by the lodge's guiding team. Children over 10 are welcome in the Luxury Suites at Malewane Lodge, Farmstead and Masiya's Camp, children of all ages are welcome in the Royal Suites, at Africa House, at Farmhouse and at Waterside, and the Royal Rangers programme is offered for younger guests.
