RockFig Safari Lodge is a small luxury lodge in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which shares an unfenced border with Kruger National Park. It was originally built in the mid-1990s as a family retreat by Glen and Bruce Jenkins, inspired by a leopard seen in a rock fig tree on their first game drive, and has since been renovated.

There are six chalet-style suites sleeping up to 12 guests, each with a private veranda, indoor and outdoor showers, freestanding bath, minibar, air-conditioning, fans, mosquito nets and safe. The lodge has an open-plan kitchen, a fireplace lounge, a long dining table under a chandelier, a pizza oven, a boma, a communal pool overlooking the waterhole, a viewing deck, a photographic hide and a gym.

Game drives run twice daily in 4x4 vehicles capped at four guests per vehicle, with guided walking safaris restricted to ages 14 and over. Bush breakfasts, picnics and bush dinners add variety, and spa treatments are available on request. Children of any age are generally welcome, with exclusive-use bookings available for multigenerational families; confirm current child policy directly with the lodge.
