MalaMala Main Camp
MalaMala Main Camp, listed by the reserve as MalaMala Camp, is one of the oldest safari camps in South Africa, set alongside the perennial Sand River in MalaMala Game Reserve, Greater Kruger. Fondly called a place of legends, it keeps a laid-back, nostalgic pace, with rare photographs, old maps and mementos alongside works by contemporary wildlife artists. It is part of the Tengile MalaMala Collection, whose land has been protected since 1927.
All thatched, the camp has eleven suites and eight large rooms with views of the watering hole or the flood plains. Guests gather on a large deck canopied by a Jackal-berry tree, in the air-conditioned library, and in the lounge and Buffalo Bar.
