Greenfire Game Lodge
Greenfire Game Lodge sits in the 50,000-hectare, privately owned Balule Nature Reserve, adjacent and open to the greater Kruger National Park system, 17 kilometres north of Hoedspruit. The lodge is an exclusive, intimate operation that owns and traverses more than 3,000 hectares with unrestricted animal movement, built with an environmentally sensitive, low-carbon approach.
Accommodation is in architect-designed, twin-bedded chalets with en-suite bathrooms, isolated from one another within the riverine canopy, each with its own viewing deck. A modern glass, steel and stone design uses ceiling fans and a specific roof geometry with built-in ducting to cool the units without mechanical noise. The central lodge has a wraparound veranda, lounge, sun deck and a large freeform pool. Activities are twice-daily game drives in open-sided 4WD vehicles, with off-road sightings permitted and walking safaris offered, including a full-day option on foot. All of the Big Five are reported present, alongside prolific birdlife.
