Wilderness King's Pool

King's Pool takes its name from an actual royal visit: Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf reportedly spent his honeymoon at this lagoon, and the camp's barge is named the "Queen Silvia" after his wife. The camp sits within a 126,000-hectare private reserve at the confluence of the Linyanti and Kwando rivers, an area regarded as one of Botswana's most consistently productive predator zones, with a particular reputation for leopard sightings alongside lion, hyena and elephant.

Tucked into a grove of jackalberry trees overlooking its namesake lagoon, the camp is built from thatch and canvas, with suites connected by raised decks and walkways and finished with copper and teal detailing. A standout feature is an elevated, eye-level game-viewing hide near the lagoon for close encounters with elephant and other wildlife, alongside a library lounge and small safari boutique.

Activities centre on game drives, boat and barge outings on the lagoon — including a dedicated high-tea and sundowner cruise — hide-based photography, and stargazing under dark, unpolluted skies. The camp runs entirely on solar power, with Wi-Fi confirmed in guest rooms and the main area.
