Setari Camp
Setari — Setswana for "tree" — is the flagship, original camp in the small, owner-run Setari Camp collection (alongside sister properties Kala Camp and the Treehouse), all operating within the private NG/24 concession. The camp is built on a magical palm island locally known as "Little Duba," just 1.2km long and 700m wide, surrounded by 7 lagoons with year-round water. Design integrates the giant riverine forest and palm trees that dominate the island: raised walkways link the tents, dining/sitting room, pool and gym high above the ground, creating an elevated tree-house perspective over crystal-clear channels and papyrus beds. The area is a birder's paradise (migrant birds, raptors, a seasonal heronry, Pel's Fishing Owl) and home to the rare Sitatunga antelope, bushbuck, a resident leopard, hippo, baboons and a resident hyena.
Accommodation comprises 9 double luxury tents plus 1 family tent (2 adjoining tents sharing a private dining deck), accommodating up to 20 guests, all raised in the trees overlooking the floodplain. Tents feature extra-length beds, super-sized mosquito nets, a desk, sofa, fan and plug points, with spacious en-suite bathrooms (freestanding bath, separate shower, toilet, plus an outside shower with a view) and a private deck. Camp facilities include a swimming pool with loungers, a gym, a thatched main area combining dining, seating and bar, a large al fresco dining deck, a separate deck with a designed fire pit, and a curio shop — all with Delta views.
Activities include game-viewing boat trips and traditional mokoro excursions to take in the birdlife and wildlife, plus bush walks on neighbouring islands in search of elephant or sitatunga. Children aged 6 and upward are welcome; a private boat and guide is required for children aged 6–12 taking part in boating activities, and babysitting is available.
