Sable Alley

Sable Alley sits directly on a lily-covered lagoon within the Khwai Private Reserve — described by the operator as three times the size of South Africa's Sabi Sands — bordered by Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park. The lagoon draws hippo, elephant and buffalo to drink in view of camp, so much of the wildlife-watching here happens without leaving the property.

Twelve suites (9 twin, 1 honeymoon, 2 family), each roughly 55m², have sliding screen doors opening onto lagoon views, a veranda, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Communal areas capture the same vistas: a bar overlooking the lagoon, an outdoor firepit, and a pool and sundeck added specifically for watching hippo pods. The décor is described as "Afro-chic."

The reserve was formerly a hunting concession, and Natural Selection describes actively re-habituating wildlife to vehicles since converting it to photographic tourism — 50+ species in a single game drive is cited as achievable today. Activities span day and night game drives, walking safaris, mokoro and boat trips, an underground viewing hide, scenic helicopter flights, and the pre-dawn KPR Predator Patrol.
