Oddballs' Camp
Oddballs' Camp occupies the edge of Chief's Island at the heart of the Okavango, right on the border of Moremi Game Reserve, reached exclusively by light aircraft. It has built a reputation as one of the Delta's original value-for-money walking-and-water safari camps, prized for stripping the experience down to a guide, a canoe, and the bush rather than layering on infrastructure.
The camp's 14 canvas-and-timber rooms are simple but comfortable, raised on shaded wooden decks with en-suite outdoor bucket showers; two of the units are configured for families. Communal life happens around a bar and lounge area and a raised viewing deck over the Boro River.
The defining feature is the guiding model: each pair of guests is assigned one local guide, who supplies his own hand-made wooden mokoro and leads guests on foot through the delta's islands entirely without vehicles or motors. For longer stays, the camp offers a multi-night mokoro camping trail into the wilderness.
