Molapo Private

Molapo Private is a new, exclusive-use luxury tented camp under development by The Lands, sister property to the company's flagship Moela Safari Lodge, sharing the same 770-hectare private tribal reserve on the Boteti River Valley. The reserve sits within Makgadikgadi Pans National Park and was converted from farmland to wildlife by Chief Ngande of Khumaga Village in the early 1980s. Positioned between the Okavango, the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and Chobe National Park, it offers unparalleled, private access to Southern Africa's largest zebra and wildebeest migration, plus resident elephant, lion, leopard and wild dog.

The camp will offer an 8-bed, exclusive-use tented layout: 8x en-suite double serviced thatched rooms, each with a bedroom, bathroom and living area, a private wildlife-viewing deck and a private plunge pool. It is designed for family groups and friends travelling together, with baby-sitting service available and daily laundry included. Like Moela, it runs on a solar hybrid power system with generator backup and thermodynamic solar water heating for hot water at all times.

As an exclusive-use camp, activities are private-vehicle and privately guided throughout, with park and concession fees included. The Boteti River Valley delivers some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa during the dry season (June–November), when migratory zebra and wildebeest congregate by the thousand at the water's edge in front of camp. Not yet open — status and opening date should be confirmed directly with the operator.
