Lebala Camp

Lebala Camp sits in a remote southern stretch of the 232,000-hectare Kwando Private Concession in far northern Botswana, shared with only one other camp, Lagoon. The name means "wide open space" in Setswana — an apt description of the golden floodplains, leadwood forests and unfenced wilderness that form a key elephant migration corridor with some of Botswana's most consistent predator sightings.

Nine raised, wooden-platform tented suites (8 standard, 1 family) stretch along a shaded leadwood island for privacy and panoramic views, with distinctive mesh canvas walls in place of solid siding so guests can hear and watch wildlife pass close to their decks. The main camp area sits on stilts above the seasonally flooded swamps, with an unfussy open bar, lounge, dining area and a raised hide overlooking the marsh.

Lebala has a strong reputation for predator action — wild dog, cheetah, lion, leopard and hyena, alongside elephant and sable antelope — delivered by paired guide-and-tracker teams working off-road and after dark with spotlights, a Kwando specialty. Activities include game drives, night drives, off-road tracking, nature walks and an optional helicopter safari.
