Kwara

Kwara is one of the oldest and most storied camps in the Delta, on a forested island in the southern Kwara concession sharing a 30km permanent-water boundary with Moremi Game Reserve. Long before its recent rebuild it built a cult following among safari veterans for unusually high game density, straddling both dry woodland and year-round waterways.

Reimagined as "the reborn Kwara," the camp offers larger, more elegant suites split between Kwara South (4 tents) and Kwara North (5 tents plus 1 guide tent), each with a private deck, ball-and-claw bathtub and over-bed air conditioning. Notably, Kwara is adults-only — no children under 18 — with a 3-night minimum stay, and two separate pool areas each with their own private bar reinforce the emphasis on seclusion.

Permanent water gives Kwara the fullest activity range of any Kwando camp: game drives (day and night), off-road tracking, mokoro, motorboat cruises, fishing, walking, and seasonal visits to the Godikwe heronry. Guest reviews cite strong predator sightings — lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hyena, sometimes all in one visit.
