Duke's East

Duke's East is the smaller, more intimate sibling of Duke's Camp, on the same wildlife-rich concession adjoining Moremi Game Reserve near Kgao Island. With just four tents against Duke's Camp's eight, it's a natural fit for exclusive-use bookings by families or groups of friends wanting the same concession access and design in a more private, self-contained setting.

The design mirrors Duke's Camp closely: canvas tents on raised decks under leadwood and ebony trees, hand-carved four-poster beds, Persian rugs and brass-fitted bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers; the family unit has its own private plunge pool. A mess/dining tent decorated with Bousfield-family travel curiosities, a small lounge, a pool and an evening firepit round out the shared spaces, with formal three-course dinners served with crystal and antique silverware.

Wildlife and activities are shared with the wider Duke's concession — strong buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion and wild dog populations, plus 350+ recorded bird species. Guests combine game drives, mokoro trips, boat safaris, scenic helicopter flights and seasonal fishing (March–December), all guided under Ralph Bousfield's training.

Rooms: 4 tented suites (1 double, 2 twin, 1 family with private plunge pool). Children 6 years and older. Facilities: swimming pool, dining/mess tent, lounge, firepit. 100% solar; 24-hour electricity in all tents.
