Chief's Camp

Chief's Camp sits tucked into the northwest corner of Chief's Island, inside the private Mombo Concession of the Moremi Game Reserve — widely regarded as one of the most productive game-viewing areas in the entire Okavango Delta. The camp's position places guests amid a shifting mosaic of mopane woodland, acacia forest and seasonal floodplain, concentrating predators and prey alike as water levels rise and fall, earning the area its 'predator capital of Africa' reputation.

Accommodation consists of ten spacious bush pavilions raised on wooden platforms, each with a four-poster bed under mosquito netting, air-conditioning (unusual for the region, made possible by the camp's own 24-hour generator power), indoor and outdoor showers, and a private terrace with plunge pool. For groups or families seeking more privacy, the two-pavilion Geoffrey Kent Suite functions as a self-contained camp within the camp, sleeping up to 6 with its own lounge, dining room, kitchen, bar, boma and dedicated staff.

Days are built around twice-daily game drives with experienced guides, supplemented by seasonal mokoro trips through lily-covered channels when floodwaters allow. Between outings, guests can unwind at the spa, gym, swimming pool or Explorer's/orientation room, before evenings close with boma dinners, sundowners and stargazing.

Rooms: 10 bush pavilions (~141-620 m²) + 2-pavilion Geoffrey Kent Suite (sleeps up to 6). Minimum age 6 years.
