African Excursions Guest House sits in the Khwai Community Concession, on the Khwai River in the north-eastern Okavango Delta, directly bordering Moremi Game Reserve — one of Botswana's most consistently active wildlife areas. The property is positioned firmly at the affordable, family-friendly end of the Khwai market, hosted and guided by local Setswana staff who know the concession intimately, and is community-concession based rather than sitting in a private exclusive-use area.

Guests stay in seven individually thatched chalets with sliding glass doors opening onto a small private deck. Interiors are simple and comfortable — tiled floors, double or twin beds, a ceiling fan (no air-conditioning), bedside tables, a clothing rack and a writing desk — with an en-suite bathroom (standing shower, flushing toilet, no bathtub) behind a fixed door for privacy. Shared facilities are centred on a thatched lapa with a handcrafted timber bar and wicker lounge, overlooking a communal garden, plus a boma and common restrooms.

Activities lean into the classic Khwai/Moremi experience: day and night game drives across the concession, full-day trips into Moremi Game Reserve itself, walking safaris with local Setswana guides, and mokoro trips. As a community-concession property, it offers a genuinely local-hosted alternative to the larger private-concession camps in the same area.
